4.

Outcome of the statutory objection period on proposals concerning the nursery at Durand Primary School pdf icon PDF 264 KB

Purpose: The purpose of the report is to provide Cabinet with the outcome of the statutory objection period concerning the proposals to discontinue the local authority maintained nursery at Durand Primary School.  This report concludes the statutory process.

Purpose: To provide Cabinet with information on the Authority’s final financial results for the 2025/26 financial year in respect of the revenue budget, capital programme, and associated reserves position.

 

To update Cabinet on the early indicative progress against the 2026/27 revenue budget.

Adoption of the Charter for the Rights of the Rivers pdf icon PDF 193 KB

Purpose: To seek Cabinet approval for the adoption of the Charter for the Rights of Rivers in Monmouthshire, following the motion agreed by Council on 25 June 2026.

 

The decision is intended to recognise the intrinsic value of all rivers and watercourses in Monmouthshire and to provide a clear set of principles to inform future Council policy, strategy, operational practice, partnership work and decision-making. The charter provides a clear public statement of intent and leadership on river protection and recovery.

Purpose: To provide details and seek approval for the acquisition and refurbishment of a property in Monmouth for the purpose of developing a supported accommodation provision for care experienced young people (aged 16 plus), using existing borrowing headroom.

 

Approval is sought based on a Business Case that is attached as Appendix 1.

Purpose: To seek authorisation to proceed with the purchase of land required to provide an active travel (walking, wheeling and cycling) path alongside the B4245 between Undy and Rogiet.
