CROESONEN S106 OFF-SITE RECREATION FUNDING pdf icon PDF 176 KB

Purpose: To agree the inclusion of capital funding in the 2020/21 Capital Budget;

To agree the allocation of grant funding to a community growing project.

Decision:

That a grant of £24,669 (to include the £18,900 grant originally allocated to the allotments project in Mardy) be allocated to the Growing Space Group to undertake a community growing initiative at the Mardy Park Resource Centre and that this is funded by a corresponding contribution from the S106 balances held by the Council from the Croesonen Farm and Infant School sites.

Purpose: To agree the inclusion of capital funding in the 2019/20 Capital Budget;

To agree the allocation of grants from the funding available.

Decision:

That a budget of £149,000 is created in 2019/20 to fund the following projects and that this is funded by a corresponding contribution from the S106 balances held by the County Council from the S106 Agreement in relation to the development of land off Wonastow Road, Monmouth;

 

That grants in the sums shown below be allocated to the following projects from the funding available:

 

1. Monmouth Leisure Centre 3G MUGA resurfacing £40,000

2. Monmouth Tennis Courts £35,000

3. Monmouth Town Football Club Spectator Stand £10,000

4. Monmouth Allotments £25,000

5. Chippenham Mead Play Area £10,000

6. Rockfield Central Open Space and Play Area £29,000

 

Total £149,000

Purpose: To agree the inclusion of funding in the 2019/20 and 2020/21 Capital Budgets;

To recommend the allocation of grants from the funding available.

Decision:

That a budget of £127,191 be created in 2019/20 to fund the following projects and that this is funded by a corresponding contribution from the S106 balances held by the County Council from Section 106 Agreements in relation to the development of land to the south of School Lane, Penperlleni and land to the rear of Pleasant Retreat, Star Road, Goytre (Finance Codes N610 and N565);

 

That grants in the sums shown below be allocated to the following seven projects:

 

1. Capel Ed Chapel Internal Alterations £20,000

2. Goytre Community Garden £5,700

3. Goytre Football Club – Maintenance Equipment £6,000

4. Goytre Primary School Environmental Sustainability £30,870

5. Goytre Scouts – Kayaking Resources £20,658

6. Goytre Village Hall – Structural Alterations & Improvements £29,663

7. Mon, Brecon and Abergavenny Canals – Community Boat £14,300

 

Total £127,191

 

That the remaining S106 balance of £82,572 be uploaded into the 2020/21 capital budget and used for the improvement of recreation and play facilities at Goytre Playing Field

Purpose:The purpose of this report is to make recommendations to Cabinet on the Schedule of Applications for the Welsh Church Fund Working Group meeting 5 held on the 19th September 2019 and meeting 6 held on the 24th October 2019.

County Councillor Sara Jones declared a prejudicial interest as an applicant, left the meeting and took no part in discussion.

 

Cabinet resolved that the grants be awarded as per the schedule of applications.

VISION MONMOUTHSHIRE 2040: ECONOMIC GROWTH AND AMBITION STATEMENT pdf icon PDF 232 KB

Purpose: To present the draft ‘Vision Monmouthshire 2040: Economic Growth and Ambition Statement’ following the conclusion of the ‘Economies of the Future’ analysis and a period of consultation with Members and the local business community.

 

The purpose of the ‘Vision Monmouthshire 2040: Economic Growth and Ambition Statement’ is to set the economic ambition for the county.  The Statement will be followed by a more detailed ‘Monmouthshire Business Growth and Enterprise Strategy' and accompanying Inward Investment Prospectus.  These set of documents will work alongside the replacement Local Development Plan (LDP), in identifying suitable employment sites and premises, to enable existing businesses to grow and to attract inward investment from new businesses in key growth sectors.  The replacement LDP will also seek to increase the availability of housing sites to provide differing residential products, to enable higher rates of jobs per dwelling.
