We elected County Councillor M. Groucutt as Chair.

We appointed County Councillor D. Jones as Vice-Chair.

None received.

The minutes of the meeting held on 21^st January 2022 were confirmed as an accurate record.

The Committee received the Monmouthshire Farm School Endowment Trust Fund Annual Report for the year ended 31st March 2022.

In doing so it was noted that a fraudulent application to the Trust had been made in recent years in the sum of £2590.  The matter had been identified and details were forwarded to Gwent Police to undertake a criminal investigation.  The sum will be repaid to the Trust via a payment plan.

Monmouthshire County Council auditors are aware of this matter and consequently, robust procedures have been established with regard to the application process, going forward.

We resolved to approve the accounts.

We received the Investment & Fund Strategy for the Monmouthshire Farm School Endowment Trust 2022/23.

We noted the report.           

We excluded the press and public from the meeting during consideration of the following item of business in accordance with Section 100A of the Local Government Act 1972, as amended, on the grounds that it involved the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Paragraphs 12 and 14 of Part 4 of Schedule 12A to the Act.

We considered two applications received against the Trust Fund, presented on behalf of the Chief Officer for Children and Young People.

The Trust resolved that awards be made to the two applicants, as agreed, subject to appropriate receipts and evidence of attendance being received.
