Minutes:

The minutes of the Monmouthshire Farm School Endowment Trust dated 22nd July 2019 were confirmed and signed by the Chair.

Discussion on the level of grants budget being awarded

Minutes:

In line with previous years, the Trust agreed that the maximum sum of grant funding awarded for 2019/20 would not exceed £30,200.

 

In response to a question raised regarding eligibility to receive Monmouthshire Farm School Endowment Trust funding for some areas within Caerphilly and Blaenau Gwent County Boroughs, the Finance Manager stated that she would seek legal advice on this matter and report her findings to the next meeting of the Trust.

Minutes:

We excluded the press and public from the meeting during consideration of the following item of business in accordance with Section 100A of the Local Government Act 1972, as amended, on the grounds that it involves the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Paragraphs 12 and 14 of Part 4 of Schedule 12A to the Act.

Report by the Chief Officer for Children and Young People regarding applications received against the Trust Fund for the Academic Year 2019/20

Minutes:

We considered 12 applications received against the trust fund, presented on behalf of the Chief Officer for Children and Young People.

 

Six additional applications for grant funding had been received from a charity Vision of Hope following the despatch of the agenda for this meeting.  The Trust agreed to consider these applications.  However, only one application was considered before the meeting became inquorate.

 

The Trust resolved that awards be made to 13 applicants, as agreed, subject to appropriate receipts and evidence of attendance being received.

 

The five additional applications received from the charity Vision of Hope that could not be considered due to the meeting becoming inquorate would be presented to the next meeting of the Trust for consideration.

 

The total amount of funding awarded to students at the meeting was £14,707.50.

 

 

The Trust agreed to invite representatives from the charity Vision of Hope to a future meeting to receive a presentation on what the charity does.
