Agenda and minutes

Apologies for absence were received from County Councillors A. Easson and L. Guppy.

Declarations of interest would be noted under the appropriate agenda item.

There were no members of the public present.

We confirmed and signed the minutes of the Severnside Area Committee meeting held on 25^th January 2016.  

We were advised that the closing date for applications had been extended to 27^th June 2016, with all applications being sent to Chair, Councillors Evans.

We welcomed an update from Officers and noted the following:

·         The Programme Board met on 9^th March and agreed revised terms of reference.  As a result of the revised terms of reference the Board-appointed subgroup would now be looking to rebalance the Board’s membership.

·         The Town Team had provided an update at the Board meeting.  Two business cases has been approved for submission to Cabinet, relating to the market and to an empty shop project.  Town centre wi-fi was progressing and the town centre visioning document had been agreed.  John Griffiths AM and Jessica Morden MP had been invited to visit Severnside on Friday 18^th March by the Programme Board Chair.

·         The Accessible Transport theme group had now been established and was being led by Paul Turner Magor.  The Whole Place team had also provided support to the Severn Tunnel Action Group with progressing a questionnaire.

·         A written update on 21^st Century Schools had been provided to the Programme Board meeting.

·         The Health and Wellbeing group was in the process of being established.  The Health Board had indicated that they were very keen to offer support for a community-led model and approaches had already been made to a number of community leaders with regards to participating in the project.

The next meeting would be held on Wednesday 27^th April 2016 at 10.00am.
