Decision: The Committee resolved that the following grants are awarded as per the schedule of applications.
SCHEDULE OF APPLICATIONS CONSIDERED 2025/26 – MEETING 1.
St Michael & All Angels Church, Mitchell Troy requested £3,500 for major structural repairs to the roof, tower walls and belfry following quinquennial review. Also, maintenance of the bell assemblies and installing protective mesh to the belfry openings.
Recommendation: £2,000 to assist in repairing the roof to this historical community asset.
St Pierre Church, Chepstow requested £4,960 to repair the graveyard wall which is in danger of collapse.
Recommendation: £1,000 awarded for repairs and improvements to be made to the graveyard wall.
St Michael's Church, Llanfihangel tor Y Mynydd requested £7,762 for urgent repairs to the church roof to prevent further water ingress
Recommendation: £3,000 awarded to assist in repairing the roof of the church.
St Mary's Church Community Hall, Caldicot requested £1,000 required to replace broken window blinds with new roller blinds
Recommendation: £1,000 awarded to assist in provision of new blinds at this community asset.
Caldicot Pride requested £500 to increase the visibility and acceptance of the queer community in Caldicot by ruining community festivals.
Recommendation: £250 awarded to assist in providing essential first aid services to ensure that this community event is safe for all participants.
Blue Phoenix Jazz Band requested £2,778.77 to purchase new uniforms for the band.
Recommendation: £1,750 was awarded to provide competition uniforms for this voluntary community group.
Lottie Willaims requested £2,000 to attend a skiing training camp for 4 weeks in Chile.
Recommendation: £400 was awarded to assist in the training of a prospective elite athlete.
St David's Church, Llanddewi Rhydderch requested £4,360 to install wooden windowsills inside the Church; to buy and erect a new Noticeboard at the entrance to Church, and to install a new shed and path in the graveyard.
Recommendation: £1,600 was awarded to re-instate replacement wooden windowsills to restore the fabric of the church to its historic design.
Chepstow Boat Club requested £900 to replace a walkway and decking for the pontoon for use by boaters on the river Wye.
Recommendation: £900 awarded to assist in provision of a new floating pontoon for safe ingress / egress to the River Wye. |

Monmouthshire as the host for Stage 5 of the prestigious 2025 Lloyds Tour of Britain Men, a major British Cycling event.
That £25,000 is drawn down from directorate budgets, as part of the hosting arrangements, each participating local authority is required to make a financial contribution of £25,000. |
