The Support Services Manager presented the final accounts and independent examination for the year end 2024. 

 

We resolved to approve the accounts.

To consider whether to exclude the press and public from the meeting during consideration of the following item of business in accordance with Section 100A of the Local Government Act 1972, as amended, on the grounds that it involves the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Paragraphs 12 and 14 of Part 4 of Schedule 12A to the Act. We excluded the press and public from the meeting during consideration of the following item of business in accordance with Section 100A of the Local Government Act 1972, as amended, on the grounds that it involved the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Paragraphs 12 and 14 of Part 4 of Schedule 12A to the Act.

To consider a report by the Chief Officer for Children and Young People regarding applications received against the Trust Fund for the Academic Year 2024/25.

Minutes:

We considered 5 applications received against the Trust Fund, presented on behalf of the Chief Officer for Children and Young People.

 

The Trust resolved that:

 

(i) awards be made to three of the applicants, subject to appropriate receipts and evidence being received.

(ii) two applications did not receive funding at today’s meeting. Legal advice was requested on the eligibility of one claim. When received, a decision will be made at the next meeting. Officers would liaise with the applicant to request receipts. When the receipts are received, the applications will be re-presented to a future meeting of the Trust for consideration.

(iii) a report be presented to the next meeting of the Trust outlining the Authority’s public transport policy and pence per mile rates, with a view to aiding students when applying for funding against the Trust in respect of their travelling costs to college.
