Minutes:

The Committee elected County Councillor David Jones as Chair.

Appointment of Vice-Chair.

Minutes:

County Councillor David Havard was appointed as Vice-Chair.

Minutes:

The minutes of the meeting held on 22nd January 2021 were confirmed as an accurate record.

Monmouthshire Farm School Endowment Trust Annual Report for the year ended 31st March 2021. pdf icon PDF 329 KB

Minutes:

The Committee received the Monmouthshire Farm School Endowment Trust Fund Annual Report for the year ended 31st March 2021.

 

In doing so it was noted that the increased fund total was due to a gain through investments, but also because of the difficult year which had seen remote learning and reduced travel costs.

To consider whether to exclude the press and public from the meeting during consideration of the following item of business in accordance with Section 100A of the Local Government Act 1972, as amended, on the grounds that it involves the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Paragraphs 12 and 14 of Part 4 of Schedule 12A to the Act. We resolved to exclude press and public from the meeting.

7.

To consider a report by the Chief Officer for Children and Young People regarding applications received against the Trust Fund for the Academic Year 2020-21.

Minutes:

We considered 5 applications received against the Trust Fund, presented on behalf of the Chief Officer for Children and Young People.

 

The Trust resolved that awards be made to 5 applicants, as agreed, subject to appropriate receipts and evidence of attendance being received;

 

The total amount of funding awarded to students at the meeting equated to £4250.

Next Meeting: Monday 4th October 2021 at 10.00am.

Minutes:

It was agreed that future meetings revert to 11am start.

 

The Vice-Chair expressed thanks to Professor Hayes who has taken the decision to step down from the Committee.  Members and Officers were keen to express kind words and acknowledged the wisdom he had provided over many years.
