ABERGAVENNY, MAGOR WITH UNDY AND MONMOUTH PLACEMAKING PLANS pdf icon PDF 278 KB

Division/Wards Affected: Abergavenny, Magor with Undy and Monmouth

 

Purpose: This report provides an overview of the placemaking plans which have been developed for Abergavenny, Magor with Undy and Monmouth, and invites Cabinet to approve the plans and agree their adoption.

 

The report also seeks Cabinet’s approval for the establishment of joint placemaking delivery groups in partnership with town councils Abergavenny, Magor with Undy and Monmouth. These groups, along with existing placemaking partnership groups in Caldicot, Chepstow and Usk, will consider in collaboration with Monmouthshire County Council how and when projects will be delivered according to resources and funding opportunities such as Transforming Towns Placemaking Grant and the Pride in Place Impact Fund.

That Cabinet approves the Abergavenny, Magor with Undy and Monmouth placemaking plans and agrees their adoption.

 

That Cabinet approves the establishment of placemaking delivery groups for those towns with the relevant town councils, which will agree terms of reference including membership and the ability to review and revise the placemaking plan action plans from time to time as required.

Decision:

To approve the adoption of the Socially Responsible Procurement Policy.

 

To delegate authority to approve any subsequent updates to reflect national Guidance and / or meet new legislative requirements, to the Deputy Chief Executive and Chief Officer for Resources, in liaison with the Cabinet Member for Resources.

PUBLIC SERVICES OMBUDSMAN FOR WALES ANNUAL LETTER 2024-25 pdf icon PDF 152 KB

Purpose: The purpose is to fulfil the expectation of the Public Services Ombudsman for Wales that their report is brought to the attention of Cabinet.

That Cabinet note the content of the Public Sector Ombudsman for Wales (PSOW) annual letter and inform the PSOW of their considerations and any proposed actions.

 

That the authority continues to engage with the PSOW complaints standards work, access training for staff and provide the PSOW with complaints data.

NATIONAL JOINT COMMITTEE FOR THE NATIONAL ADOPTION SERVICE FOR WALES AND FOSTER WALES pdf icon PDF 240 KB

Purpose: This report sets out a proposal to amend the quoracy required for the National Joint Committee            meetings via a ‘Deed of Variation’. The report sets out the reasons for the proposal and seeks cabinet approval for the variation.

Decision:

That Cabinet agree to reduce the quorum of the Joint Committee to 40%, with at least 3 regional areas represented.

 

That Cabinet authorise the entry into and signing of the Deed of Variation to enable this.

That Cabinet reviewed the strategic risk assessment and assessed whether it provides a realistic and evidenced appraisal of the strategic risks facing the authority over the next three years.
